Mr. Ted Junior Ray “Bubba” son of William Ray and Mary Lester Ray was born May 25, 1969 in Lee County, North Carolina. He gained his wings early Friday morning, November 17, 2023.
Ted got saved and baptized at Westside Missionary Baptist Church in his adult life. He graduated from Union Pines High School in 1986. He was a loving person who never met a stranger. He loved to cook, laugh, joke around, and listen to music. Ted loved his family and spending time with them any chance he got. Whether it was in NC or DC.
Ted was preceded in death by his biological father Van Stringfellow, paternal grandparents Buddy and Novella Ray, maternal grandparents Isaac and Nancy Lester; a son, Ted Junior Ray, Jr, a daughter; Kecia Kenner; a brother William Lester and his father in law Leon Person.
Ted was united in marriage to Leondra Person on October 27, 2001. This union was blessed with two son’s Devonta and Christopher.
His precious memories will be cherished by all that knew him. Ted is survived by his devoted wife of 22 years Leondra Ray of Robbins, NC. Sons; Devonta (Yvette) and Christopher Ray of Robbins, NC. Daughters; Adoshia and Dominique Robinson of Washington, DC. Mother, Mary L. Ray (late Mack Ray) of Angier, NC. Father William Ray (Tori) of Cameron, NC. Sisters; Mary Lois of New Jersey, Linda Smith (Otis) of Greensboro, NC, Sandra Marble (Ralph) of Sanford, NC, Brenda Stringfellow of Harnett County, NC. Brothers; Tim Ray (Stacey) of Pinehurst, NC Antwon Blue of Fayetteville, NC, Donald Stringfellow (Sandra) of Wilmington, NC, Dan Stringfellow (Katherine) of Sanford, NC, Van Cameron (Betty) of Harnett County, NC, Glenn Cameron of Sanford, NC. Mother in law; Judy Person of Robbins, NC. One sister in law; Yolanda Richardson of Jacksonville, NC. Two brothers in laws; Rev. Jeff Person (Alveda) of Carthage, NC, and Rev. Jermaine Richardson (Porsha) of Eagle Springs, NC. Ten grandchildren, a goddaughter, Rakita Jones “Lucy” of Johnsonville, NC. Bonus sons; Justin Lester, Quan Ross, Jarvis Person, Jr. (JJ) of NC. And a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousin, and friends.
